Mini Update 1-30

I wanted to mention that I will still be taking orders during my move. I am leaving on the 5th of Feb and taking a road trip across the country. Orders placed after the 3rd will not be shipped until the 9th of Feb. I will however be able to take e-mails because I will have access via iphone. I am excited to take lots of pictures on my trip and finally getting to my destination.

I think this will be my last blog post until after I move in and settle down. It's going to take us 3 days to get there and I will be super busy getting things together the last few days before I leave.

I also want to mention that I've been getting a lot of orders lately (more orders=more money=more supplies) so I was able to purchase some new things. I have not been able to take pictures of the items I've made already but I will be getting sterling silver soon. I currently have a few but it's difficult to make things when I'm limited in supply so with more coming in, I will have the option for my customers to order any earring/ear cuff piece in sterling silver.

So I'm finishing off this with pictures of Pebbles. She's turning 3 years old on Feb. 9th

Here is a picture of her and her cousin (my sister's dog)

I had to take care of him for a little while so I keep him on a towel for him to lay on and stay out of trouble.
and here is a picture of her in her suitcase.

and a few more of her...

that's about it for now. No jewelry just yet. Thanks for reading =)

Konad Nails

This is NOT a jewelry related post but I just wanted to post this to see if anybody is interested.

Essie Not Just A Pretty Face w/Konad red special nail polish for the heart from plate m3

I first tried Konad when I was on vacation this past winter break and I fell in love. It was just so simple and the results are gorgeous. When I came home, I found a retailer near my house and decided to stop by. It was difficult to find at first because it is a bit small but it was worth it because although they have less variety, the items there were very inexpensive compared to the kiosks at the mall or anywhere else.

I bought the Stone Kit

(image from Konad)
It comes with 3 5ml nail polishes, 2 plates, scraper, stamper, rhinestones, and a stick. This retails for about $28.99 (some places more) and I purchased this for $15. Amazing discount right?

They also had the Basic Stamping Kit

It contains 1 nail polish, 1 plate, stamper and scraper. This retails for about $15.99 (some places more) and they sell it for $7. I might buy this for a giveaway. Anybody interested?

There were more items such as the stamper and scraper by itself, nail care kit, starter kit c, plate holder, top coats, special nail polishes, and plates. They have a lot of plates for $4 each but they're not very organized so I have to look through them all to find what I'm looking for. It's also run by asians so if you pay in cash, there's no tax =)
They also sell China Glaze for $2, OPI for $3.75, Essie for $3.50, and tons of other nail supplies.

I'm not trying to advertise anything but if you're in the area and is interested, here's the address:
Spa Beauty Supplies
9216 Valley Blvd.
Rosemead, CA 91770

There is a website too but it's not the same as the store. You cannot purchase Konad on it but here it is:
http://www.spabeautysupply.com

Just wanted to mention that I purchased everything I own and I'm only making this post because I think people would be interested.

So here are the designs I've made so far with the plates I have. My nails chip easily so in order to keep it's length, I need to paint it. Don't make fun of my nails =/

Here is one of the first designs I made on my nails. I used China Glaze Innocence as a sheer pink underneath with just a regular white (Rimmel Nail Tip Whitener) as the tip and silver glitter (Art Club). The plate I used is m57 for the lacy trimmings (w/Konad white special nail polish).

Here is another french tip but with flowers from the plate m4. The white I'm using for the tips is from Borghese Bianco White Tip.

Lastly, what I currently have on now is Sinful Colors in Glass Pink as the base color and flowers from plate m25. On my thumb, I was trying out using the stamp with China Glaze Millennium (silver) using plate m3's stars. It worked out pretty well but it's not shimmery.

So did you like this post? I've been taking pictures and posting it on twitter and I thought I might share and see if you're interested in these type of posts outside of jewelry. Let me know if you want to see more. Thanks =)

Valentine's jewelry plus a question

I finally had time to take pictures of the few new items I've made since last year. I didn't get a chance to take pictures lately because of the horrible weather. It's been raining for the past few days. Something I'm not used to here in So Cal. So here are a few items I made specifically for valentine's day

This contains two swarovski hearts with two swarovski bicones dangling in between. This is a 16" necklace with about a 4cm pendant drop.

Limited quantity

#528 A Heart Of Gold Earring/Necklace Set

This last one isn't part of the "Valentine's" theme but I made it a week ago and thought I should just post it up.

#416 Mother Of Pearl Dangle Earring
This contains mother of pearl disks that reflects in the light.

I guess that's it for now. I just wanted to ask everybody for an input.
What would you want to see more of on this blog? It could be anything and something that it could improve on. Please let me know. It would be really helpful. Thanks =)

Update plus mini sale

So why haven't I made any new pieces? I have been taking my time to adjust to life after my vacation and I made a huge decision just last week. I am going to move to North Carolina. I have lived in California my whole life under my parent's roof besides the time I moved out for college. This is a huge decision on my part because this will be a totally new experience for me and this gives me a chance to really grow up without the help of my parents all the time. I am going to take a few classes and work while I'm there but the main reason is to be with my husband. As I've mentioned before, he's in the military and I hardly see him. If you've been through this then you'd know it's really difficult to be away from the one you love. I'll probably be living there for a year or so and will definitely taking Pebbles with me and all my jewelry supplies.

So what are the changes? I am going to make the move in 2 weeks and it may take a while to settle down. I am currently still taking orders on etsy and ecrater until the 28th of this month. I have ordered new supplies and some will be delivered to my current address and others to my new address. It's kind of confusing because I don't know how long it'll take to ship but I will find more time to make new pieces when I settle down over there.

As for now, I will try to make a few items for Valentine's Day by the end of the week and we'll see how it goes from there.

So what is in North Carolina?
All I know is that One Tree Hill is filmed there. I'm definitely going to visit the river court.

I'm Back! Questionnaire Giveaway

So I'm back from vacation for a few days now but I have been settling in and getting things situated before I came back. I will be getting back to making jewelry soon but I need some help with ideas, which is why I am having another giveaway. It's more of a questionnaire giveaway. I may have this regularly if it works as planned. Here is what you need to do:

The winner will be chosen at random and I will announce it after it ends on January 15, 2010.

The winner will receive their top two favorite items. If the winner is a previous customer and already purchased their favorite item(s), she may choose a different item of their choice. The winner will receive the items wrapped with tissue paper in a gift box.

The winner will also receive 2-3 jewelry items of my choice. (items unknown at this time)

Update! So as I mentioned before, I went to Seattle for the holidays. I spent my birthday there as well so now I'm 23 and feeling old. I also received a new camera so I'm able to take pictures of my jewelry once I start making them again.

Here are some pictures I took while I was there.

Here is downtown Seattle. The picture was taken from the Space Needle. It didn't snow while I was there =(

Here is a design piece in front of the Space Needle building. I didn't get a picture of the Space Needle because I took a few pictures of it the last time I was there.

Right after that, we went to a restaurant in downtown Seattle near the bay. I ordered pasta and it was delicious. I was already full but my hubby's family ordered dessert so I tried it and it was amazing. I was still able to eat it when I was full. The restaurant is called Cutters Bayhouse. The ice cream was passion fruit mixed with guava. yummm...

I must go back there again.

So I also went to Canada but didn't stay long. I was able to go shopping though!

So these are almost all the pictures I could share. I hope everybody had a wonderful holiday and good luck on this giveaway. I had 18 entries in my previous giveaway that lasted 2 weeks so everybody have a very good chance of winning. Thanks! =)

If there are any errors, rules of giveaway may change but I will let you know.
